In this guide, we talk about several ways to bypass YouTube age restriction policies. If YouTube regards a clip to be age-sensitive, they will require you to log into a Google account to prove your age. But what if you don’t have a google account or you don’t want one? Thankfully there are several ways to watch the video clip without signing in.
Option 1: Bypass YouTube Age Restriction with NSFW
This option is by far the fastest way to override the age restriction and requires little more than adding a few letters to the start of the URL. The letters NSFW stand for ‘Not Safe For Work’. With this option you should be aware that as you have changed the URL. you will be changing websites. The instructions below will have the video playing in no time.
- Got to the restricted video clip as shown below.
- In the address bar, you will see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
- You want to insert the letters NSFW between the www. and youtube.com as shown below.
- Press Enter to watch the clip.
Please note that if you are using a mobile device the URL in the address bar might be different. For example, the above address on a mobile would look like http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI which you should change to http://m.NSFWyoutube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
Option 2: Bypass Age Restriction with YouTube Embed
The embed option overrides the YouTube age restriction rules that apply to clips by changing the URL to an embedded link. Embeddable links do not have any restrictions associated with them so the clip should play. Please note the clip may play in full screen with this method.
- Got to the restricted video clip as shown below.
- In the address bar, you will see the address of your video which should look something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
- You should delete watch?v= from the link and replace with embed/
- The new embeddable link should look like this https://www.youtube.com/embed/ApRGNwSvsnI
- Click Play.
Option 3: Bypass YouTube Age Restriction using Listen On Repeat
Once again we are hoping to bypass the YouTube age restrictions by changing the link. This time we are using the listen on repeat feature of YouTube to get around the restrictions.
- Got to the restricted video clip as shown below.
- In the address bar, you will see the address of your video which should look something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
- Add the word repeat to the link after the word youtube so that it looks like the link below
- https://www.youtuberepeat.com/embed/ApRGNwSvsnI
- Click Play.
Please note that if the video clip does not play automatically using this method. You may still be able to play the clip by using the search box at the top of the Listen On Repeat website to find the clip you want.
Option 4: Use a Proxy Website to Remove Age Restrictions
Although it is possible to use proxy websites to view censored or age-restricted content. We feel this is the least safe method for viewing age-restricted Youtube content. There are a number of Proxy Sites you can use, however, we do not advise using this method and provide instructions that you may only use at your own risk.
- Got to the restricted video clip as shown below.
- In the address bar, you will see the address of your video which should look something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
- You should open a new tab by clicking the plus symbol as shown below.
- Type https://www.proxysite.com/ into the address bar
- Then copy the YouTube link from the previous address bar into the Enter URL box on the Proxysite website as shown below.
- Click GO
Option 5: Bypass YouTube Age Restriction using PWN
Much like the first option, we can bypass the YouTube Age restrictions by adding a few letters to the start of the URL. The letters PWN prefix the word YouTube in the clips address as shown in the instructions below.
- Got to the restricted video clip as shown below.
- In the address bar, you will see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
- You want to insert the letters PWN between the www. and youtube.com as shown below.
- Press Enter to watch the clip.
You should note you changing websites from YouTube.com to deturl.com with this method.
Option 6: Bypass YouTube Age Restriction using FreeTube
FreeTube is an open source free app that you can download and install on your computer. It allows you to view YouTube content without being tracked or age restricted by YouTube.
To download FreeTube use this link https://freetubeapp.io/#download. Once downloaded you can follow the instructions below:
- Got to the restricted video clip as shown below.
- In the address bar, copy the link to the clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApRGNwSvsnI
- Open Freetube on you computer.
- Past the link of the restricted YouTube clip into the Search box on FreeTube
- The clip will play automatically in the app.
Warning
There is often a valid reason for age restrictions on YouTube or other social sharing websites. If there are children around or you are at your place of work or school then please use the 5 options provided with care.

BTW the youtube nsfw bypass doesn’t work anymore.
If you try watching videos that way it I’ll just not play them, even those that weren’t restricted in the first place…
Seems to me that the whole youtube age restriction is google data mining. Taking peoples credit card or passport details and we’re supposed to trust google to not keep it and to keep it safe. It’s not like there haven’t been huge data breaches in the past. Freetube still works for now at least.
Youtube is basically censoring content for the next up coming generation. Why is that nearly that talks about the true China, or talks about big war crimes committed in poorer countries is censored for a whole f*king generation. I am just trying to watch New York Times videos, or videos about the life in China, like “How China ruined Hong Kong” by BMOnus, and I can’t. This is just modern propaganda, softening a whole generation.
Option 5 still works 🙂
…for now at least!
to directly see them, it doesn’t. At least for me.
I think I can download them still though, but that’s not a solution for me
Option 5 works for me ^^ Thank you so much
Age-restricted videos are hard to watch if you are not signed in. I usually rely on this kind of article whenever I am receiving errors. And sometime I download them using a free online video downloader.
My friend suggested this article to me to download age-restricted video however I am not a tech-savvy person I made mistake a few more times before I was able to do it. I actually use an online video downloader by acethinker to do the downloading process. And if they are hard to get videos I usually rely on some articles like this.
I don’t know what it’s connected with, well this is sheer nonsense, you guys went to the tunnels, youtube did that shit with age restrictions, don’t you have enough of my account? Why should I search the internet now how to watch these ******* videos? youtube is wasting time looking for this ****. And why do I have to provide my ID or credit card to “prove my age” before they can watch videos tagged as adult content. Needless to say, I have no intention of submitting my ID card to Google, and I don’t want to give my credit card to a service that twists my hand.
exactly! Im too paranoid to provide them my ID or card, i dont even use my real name or birthday to protect my identity wtf are they thinking
The fact we even have to do this is complete garbage, why should youtube be a safe space when parents can just be parents and monitor their children and besides for adolescents younger than 13 there is always youtube kids, complete and utter nonsense now adays.
first adpocolypses, then ads over none-profit videos, and now age ristrictions.
what’s most frustrating about it is that there is already an age restriction functionality on youtube, granted it can easily be found with a simple look on the settings which a child can easily turn off, but it isn’t the creators or the company’s fault.
They entrust the user and parent of said user to monitor their watch list.
So at the end of it all, youtube is bending the knee to entitled parents who need to learn either a way to monitor or have a better way of monitoring their child
“This video is age-restricted and only available on YouTube.”
Option 6 worked 😄
I found a new way (which works even if you’re not logged in).
1. Right-click an age-restricted video.
2. Select “Copy link address”.
3. Look for a website where you can download it (such as yt1s.com) and insert the link of the age-restricted video there.
4. Left-click the “Get link” button.
5. Left-click the “Download” button.
And that’s it.
this is utter ********, why do you have to turn the internet into a safe space. there are already so many
